“Remythologizing Filipino Archetypes” in San Marco Gallery

The Cultural Director of the Philippine Consulate is scheduled to attend the Closing Reception for the “Remythologizing Filipino Archetypes: 50 Shades of Kayumanggi” exhibit in the San Marco Gallery in Alemany Library on the Dominican campus from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 30.

The exhibit is on display fro June 29 to September 15 during normal library hours. The gallery hours are from 8 a.m. to midnight Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. to midnight on Sundays.

International photographer Catherine Wagner is among the featured artists exhibiting at “Remythologizing Filipino Archetypes”. Other artists include Michael Arcega, Kimberly Arteche, Francis Calimlim, Cece Carpio, John Yoyogi Fortes, Mik Gaspay, Rea Lynn de Guzman, Johanna Poethig, Sherwin Rio, Lordy Rodriguez, Charlene Tan, Pamela Ybanez, and Jenifer Wofford, O.M. France Viana is the guest curator.

The closing reception on August 30 will be co-sponsored by the Filipino of Northern California Association (FANCO) and include members of Dominican’s Kapamilya Club.
