The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Dominican University of California will once again host its annual “Baseball Day” on Tuesday, June 5, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Guzman Lecture Hall on the San Rafael campus.
This year’s program will lead-off with a morning lecture on “Playing with Pain: Injuries in Major League Baseball” by OLLI instructor and baseball historian Mick Chantler followed by a panel discussion featuring former San Francisco Giants star pitcher and motivational speaker Dave Dravecky and former Giants and L.A. Dodgers team trainer Stan Conte. Ann Killion, sports columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle, is tentatively scheduled to participate on the panel.
Dave Albee, Associate Director of Communications and Media Relations at Dominican and an Honorary member of the Baseball Writers Association of America (BBWAA), will serve as moderator.
The lecture and panel discussion will be followed by a barbecue lunch buffet at Caleruega Dining Hall.
Cost is $45 for OLLI members and $55 for non-members. Reservations and payment must be received by May 30.
